At first, you'll just be astonished. But it's worth pausing for a while. The distance, the view, which seem to go on forever. Far off in the distance, sand, water and blue sky come together to create an amazing spectacle. The beaches of St. Peter-Ording, Amrum and Sylt are both spectacular and unique and are up there with the best in the world. Over the course of the millennia, the forces of nature created a unique landscape of dunes and beaches in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park, Schleswig-Holstein. UNESCO had many reasons for declaring this area a natural world heritage site. The water ebbs and flows and, leaving traces of its presence behind. This too is one of the reasons why beach life is so unique on the North Sea coast. The low tide reveals all the sea's treasures. Where else can you roam around, jog or just go for a walk on the sea floor? Those who lay eyes on St. Peter-Ording, Amrum, Sylt or any of the other seaside resorts on the North Sea coast for the first time are captivated by their beauty. Particularly unique are the grassy beaches in Büsum or Friedrichskoog for instance. Just position your beach chair, look at the sheep grazing in the area and, if you get hungry, buy an ice-cream from any of the nearby ice-cream parlours. Here, every inch of shoreline is used for the purposes of enjoying the North Sea.
On the North Sea coast, everyone can have fun in their own way and in their own spot. Kites flying in the wind, kite surfers dancing on the water and children digging in the sand and bathing while their parents enjoy the peace and quiet sitting in their beach chairs. Experiencing beach sailing live is an unforgettable experience. To do this, the beach must be very big to enable you to fly over the flat sandy landscape. The beach in St. Peter's is ideal for this purpose. Everyone can find their own space here, whether its dogs, nude sunbathers, children, kite fliers, walkers, mussel collectors or sun worshippers – there’s a place for everybody. Sometimes, the promenade is located directly behind the holiday-makers. So, you can have a stroll around and then get back to your towel in no time at all. Maybe you want to do something sporty? Try out something you never did before? Find out just how shaky it is up on a surfboard? Kite flying isn't just for kids. Plus, the healthy air is good for hearts of all ages – and that air is free of charge at all times.
