Cycling at the North Sea
Close to nature, feel it, see it, smell it – that is cycling at the North Sea coast. Best when you have the wind at your back. Vacation on two wheels. Forget about your car. Be at one with the landscape. Cycling with a sea view is something special. There is a network of cycling trails throughout the region. On the dike, behind the dike, through idyllic villages, in the middle of lush meadows and waves of fields. If you are the athletic type, you can go fast. Everyone can set his own pace and find his favorite spot. Let your thoughts run free. When the rape fields bloom in spring and spread a yellow carpet across the countryside or the wheat fields sway in summer, it gives you a warm feeling inside. Every season has its own beauty. Exploring this region on a bike is an incredible experience. The animals watching you are fun, not only for the children. Sheep and cows border the routes. Resting and enjoying are important too. A bench on the dike, a picnic in the breathtaking river scenery, delicious Kuchen in a rural café, or a refreshing drink at the farm store. Cycling and good eating do not have to be mutually exclusive. And it wouldn’t hurt to take your swimming gear along. The beaches along the bike trails invite you to cool off.
Cycling is for all ages and knows no borders. You can get almost everywhere on two wheels, even to the most remote places. A vacation on two wheels. No problem at the North Sea. “Bett & Bike“ offers cyclists comfortable accommodations and there are plenty of cycling trails.
If you don’t have your own bike, you can rent one at one of the numerous rental stations. You will also find bicycle trailers for safe transport of children. So the whole family can enjoy cycling. Many hosts also have their own bicycles available. In the bicycle-friendly North Sea region, trains, buses, and ships are prepared for cyclists. Many regional trains have separate parking spaces for bikes.
